About Mr Haney Youssef
I’m here to help, bringing you the benefit of my decades of experience as a consultant colorectal and general surgeon, with a specialism in peritoneal diagnosis and treatments.
I’m based at The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham, part of HCA Healthcare UK, and love working with patients to deliver what can be genuinely life-changing results for sometimes long-standing and highly distressing conditions.
After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 1997, I trained in the West Midlands before going on to pursue a specialised fellowship training in Basingstoke, then at the Washington Cancer Institute and in University Hospital Leuven.
This has given me an invaluable, broad base of knowledge and, I believe, a deep understanding about what’s best for each of the patients in my care.
My primary focus is on bowel and abdominal conditions, and my particular interest in bowel, appendix, and peritoneal cancer led me to establish the Birmingham Peritoneal Malignancy Unit.
This is just one the three specialist centres in England, offering patients the clear diagnostics and highly focussed and specialist treatment they need.
I also specialise in diagnosing and treating a whole range of conditions that effect the colon, bowel and peritoneum including inguinal hernias and bowel cancer, colorectral cancer, Crohn’s disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, peritoneal tumours and small bowel cancer.
I have a great deal of experience at performing a wide number of procedures including cytoreductive surgery and Heated Intra-Peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC), alongside the latest and most advanced robotically assisted surgeries, including:
